VPS: getting started
Updated 04-10-2026
A VPS is your own server with full administrator (root) access. You manage it in Panel → Services → VPS name.
First login
- After the purchase the system installs itself. When it is ready, we let you know.
- You find the IP address on the service page.
- Log in over SSH, e.g.
ssh root@IP_ADDRESS, with the root password you set when ordering.
You change the root password and add SSH keys in Server configuration → SSH access.
Console without SSH
When you cannot connect over SSH (e.g. after a wrong firewall rule in the system), use the VNC console on the service page. It shows the server's screen, like a monitor plugged into a computer.
Power
On the service page you start, restart and shut down the server. "Shut down" closes the system normally, while "stop" cuts the power at once and may interrupt writing data.
Reinstalling
Server configuration → Reinstall installs the system again from the chosen template.
Reinstalling deletes all data on the disk. Make a backup first.
Network
In Server configuration → Network you set DNS servers and the reverse record (PTR) of the IP address, needed e.g. for sending e-mail. Anti-DDoS protection deals with attacks: you see their course in DDoS attacks and set traffic rules in Firewall.
More resources
You add more cores, RAM or disk in Extend, without reinstalling. For the rest of the period you pay only the difference.
