Playing from phones and consoles on a Java server: Geyser and Floodgate
Updated 25-10-2026
With Geyser, players from Minecraft Bedrock can join your Minecraft Java server too: from phones, tablets, Windows and consoles. You install it in the panel with one click.
Installation
- Go to Add-ons → One click.
- Next to Geyser click Install. The panel installs Geyser with Floodgate, assigns a separate port and sets up the configuration.
- Restart the server.
Geyser takes one of the plan's additional ports. If the server's engine does not support it, the panel says so next to the add-on.
Floodgate
Floodgate lets Bedrock players join without a Minecraft Java account. Their names get a dot at the start, e.g. .Player123, so they do not clash with Java players.
How to connect from Bedrock
- In Minecraft Bedrock open Play → Servers → Add Server.
- In the address field enter the server address or its subdomain.
- In the port field enter the Bedrock port. You find it next to Geyser in the One click tab and in Server settings → Addresses (Bedrock / Geyser, UDP).
A subdomain with the port in an SRV record only works in Java. On Bedrock always enter the port.
Consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch) have no button for adding a server. Players connect through workarounds, e.g. the BedrockTogether app on a phone.
Limitations
- Bedrock players do not see modded content, so Geyser works best on servers with plugins.
- Some mechanics work differently, e.g. combat or some menus.
When Bedrock players cannot join
- Check that they enter the Bedrock port, not the Java server port.
- If the port in the configuration does not match the server's port, click Repair the configuration next to Geyser.
- After a new Minecraft Bedrock version Geyser sometimes needs an update. Open a ticket then.
